In Sandwich UK, Pfizer has just completed a world-class pilot plant facility for the preparation of API to suit the
needs of its development portfolio.
Critical to the success of this project was the contribution of In Total Control (ITC), who was given the responsibility
of integrating user requirements into the design of this facility, as well as managing the instrumentation and controls
aspect of the design, and ensuring the implementation of a very flexible and cGMP compliant operating philosophy.
Through the efforts of Dave Bull, user requirements were collected from operating personnel, organic chemists, and
chemical engineers, all with the same goal in mind, but approaching the design from different perspectives.
ITC was able to satisfy the needs of all the stakeholder groups, effectively manage the interactions with the primary
control system provider, and ensure adoption of a flexible mode of operation. By effective use of contemporary
technologies, ITC implemented a design which very effectively maintains the connectivity between the research needs
for flexible operations in this development environment, and the high standards of safety and productivity needed to
compete in the current business environment.
I would therefore highly recommend ITC for their ability to deliver cost effective technology that meets the Users
requirements.
